Prerequisites
- An Atlassian Confluence Cloud instance
- Your Confluence email and an API token
Connecting Confluence
Confluence is connected per-user, not per-chatbot. Connect once on the Integrations page.
Create an API token
If you don’t have one:
- Go to id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens
- Click Create API token
- Label it (e.g. “FIFE.BOT”)
- Copy the token
Enter credentials
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Site URL | https://yourcompany.atlassian.net |
you@company.com | |
| API Token | (paste from step 3) |
Adding Confluence as a Knowledge Source
Browse spaces and pages
A page browser shows your Confluence spaces. Navigate and select pages to sync.
Auto-Sync
Confluence sources are automatically re-synced on a schedule. Updated pages are re-fetched and re-indexed.Managing Connections
On the Integrations page:- Rename a Confluence connection
- Disconnect — removes credentials and stops syncs
Routing Instructions
Add source-specific instructions for Confluence content. Example:“This Confluence space contains engineering documentation. Include links to related Jira tickets when relevant.”
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Connection failed | Verify your site URL, email, and API token are correct |
| No spaces visible | Check that your Confluence account has read access to the spaces |
| Sync errors | The API token may have expired — create a new one and reconnect |
