The Bot Identity settings control what visitors see when they first interact with your chatbot. Go to your chatbot → Settings tab → Bot Identity sub-tab.
Avatar
Upload a custom image that represents your chatbot. This appears in:
- The widget header
- The chatbot card on the dashboard
- The demo page
Requirements:
- Max file size: 5 MB
- Recommended: square image, at least 128x128px
- Supported formats: PNG, JPG, SVG
If no avatar is uploaded, a default bot icon is shown on a gradient background.
Welcome Text
The first message visitors see when they open the chat widget. This appears as a bot message before the user types anything.
Examples:
- “Hi! I’m the Acme support bot. How can I help you today?”
- “Welcome! Ask me anything about our products.”
- “Hello! I can help you with orders, returns, and product questions.”
Keep welcome text short and action-oriented. Tell visitors what the bot can help with.
Welcome Questions
Suggested questions displayed as clickable buttons below the welcome message. These help visitors start a conversation without having to think of a question.
Configuration:
- Up to 5 questions
- Each question is a clickable chip/button
- Clicking a question sends it as the user’s first message
Examples:
- “What are your business hours?”
- “How do I track my order?”
- “Tell me about your Pro plan”
- “How do I return a product?”
Pick your most common customer questions. Check the Analytics → Conversations tab to see what people actually ask.
Live Preview
The right side of the Bot Identity settings shows a live preview of the chat widget. Changes to the avatar, welcome text, and welcome questions update in real time as you type.
